Monique Jacobson van Vooren (born in 1927) is a Belgian-born American musical theatre, film and television actress and dancer, who first arrived in the United States on November 3, 1949. She has written several books, including Night Sanctuary and The happy cooker.
Van Vooren was a champion skater and a beauty queen in Belgium. She studied philosophy and languages, learning to speak English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, and Flemish. "I can also read Greek and Latin," she said. Her initial visit to the United States was in 1950, when she was an exchange student studying law at New York University on a Fulbright Scholarship.
On Broadway, van Vooren played in John Murray Anderson's Almanac (1953–54) Man on the Moon (1975). In the 1960s, van Vooren starred in summer stock theatre productions in the United States.
In 1955, back in France, she starred in Série noire, opposite Erich von Stroheim and Robert Hossein.
She starred in the TV series Batman, in the sixties.
She also starred in Las Vegas, where already many famous bombshells are starring, such as Jayne Mansfield, Marlène Dietrich, Mae West and Mamie van Doren, with whom Monique Van Vooren is often mixed up.
In 1971 she played in Pasolini’s Decameron, and in 1973 she appeared nude opposite Joe Dallesandro, in Flesh for Frankenstein.
In 1983, she published Night Sanctuary. She described her book as being about "'the dark side' of people."
Van Vooren recorded an album, Mink in HiFi for RCA Victor. In 1956, she signed a contract with Request Records.
Monique Van Vooren was the estimated friend of Woody Allen, Mick Jagger, Gloria Swanson, David Bowie,  Andy Warhol, Rudolph Noureev and many more.
